BetMGM Launch Pennsylvania’s 14th Online Casino Under the Borgata Brand

Barely a few weeks after greenlighting Pennsylvania’s 13th online casino, BetMGM just brought the state its 14th platform. The company launched Borgata Casino as a subsidiary of BetMGM Casino this week.

As part of BetMGM’s partnership deal with Rush Street Gaming, the new website operates under the skin of Rush Street’s Rivers Casino Philadelphia. The agreement is crucial as BetMGM isn’t licensed to operate in the state.

BetMGM plans to continue with just two brands in Pennsylvania compared to three in New Jersey for the time being, according to spokesperson Elisa Richardson. The latest platform is accessible from mobile devices and the desktop.

While both Borgata and BetMGM platforms share a few critical elements, Elisa believes players familiar with MGM Resorts Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa in Atlantic City will take a special liking to the online experience.

Players can expect to catch special promotions on the platform similar to Borgata’s land-based properties. “New Jersey taught us the importance of a multi-brand strategy. A huge portion of Pennsylvania’s population is familiar with the name Borgata, and I believe it will translate well. Some people know Borgata more than BetMGM”, Richardson explained.

Pennsylvania Poised to Break iGaming Records in the Future

With the arrival of BetMGM, Pennsylvania’s online gaming industry reached new heights in January. The 13 websites generated a record $80.4 million in revenue during the period. The three casinos that operate under Penn National Gaming’s Hollywood Casino tag generated $27.6 million in January.

While the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board failed to split the numbers between the three platforms, DraftKings is likely in the lead based on figures from December. iCasino and BetMGM are close behind. The latter reportedly generated $5.7 million in December.

“We’re quite satisfied with BetMGM’s performance in Pennsylvania so far and predict a similar response for Borgata in the state. Pennsylvania has been tremendously active in accepting this new form of wagering”, Richardson added.

Borgata up for Imminent Success

Borgata’s monthly revenue in the state will now be listed under Rivers Casino due to the market agreement. Owned by Rush Street Gaming, Rivers Casino operates two platforms in the state – PlaySugarHouse, and BetRivers – and the combined revenue in January stood at $21 million.

But unlike these platforms, the Borgata Casino platform does not have a sportsbook attached to it. BetMGM handles sports wagers in Pennsylvania through its proprietary platform where the players can toggle between online casino and sports betting using a single account.

Like BetMGM, Borgata Casino also presents players with a generous welcome bonus. The casino announced a $20 free play and up to a $1,000 match deposit bonus on the first deposit. The casino has a 15x playthrough requirement before the punters can withdraw their winnings.

Like BetMGM, Borgata offers an entire range of interactive video slots and table games apart from live dealer offerings. While the number of games is currently lower than what’s available in New Jersey, new titles are expected to be added to the list pending regulatory clearance.
